A guide to reading

How Avenrah works

Read the scene. Decide what you do. Discover what follows.

Story

Follow the thread.

Enter an authored arc, meet its characters and choose how to respond. Available approaches and consequences belong to that edition; your own words are supported where the story allows them.

The world page shows what you can read and where the current story ends.

Creative

Find another way through.

Take a separate journey through a world that supports Creative. Try its available actions, follow your curiosity and keep checkpoints for another approach. Characters retain their own constraints.

Look for Creative on the world page. Its history stays separate from Story; a world in development is a preview until a playable edition is available.

Find your beginning.

Explore a world’s premise and artwork. Its page tells you whether you can start reading or whether the story is still in development.

Available stories let you begin with your character defaults, or customize a separate start.

02

Choose your approach.

The scene gives you a situation, not a guaranteed outcome. Use an offered approach, or your own words where the story supports them.

You decide what to attempt. The world and its characters determine what happens next.

Leave a place to return to.

Your accepted choices and passages stay with that journey. Open your Library to continue the same story, with the same character.

Sign in to the account you used to begin. Private local previews stay with their local reader access.

Inside the story

Room to read.
Tools when you need them.

The story takes the space. Open the Story menu when you want to look back or adjust your view.

Look back without starting over

Scroll through earlier passages, or find History in the Story menu. Return to the latest passage when you’re ready to continue.

Make the page comfortable

Keep separate beginnings

A new start is a separate journey. Your Library keeps the existing one available; changing character defaults does not rewrite it.

Before you confirm

Know what a passage costs.

Some editions use generation credits. When a passage requires them, the reader shows the cost before you confirm. Authored previews can be read without generation credits.

If a request is interrupted, use the recovery controls shown for that request to check its saved status.
